Writing Task 2: Build a clear argument

Plan a position, develop reasons and use examples that support your answer.

Read the instruction carefully: identify whether you must discuss views, agree or disagree, or answer a question. State your position clearly and keep it consistent. Use one central idea per body paragraph. Explain why it matters, then add a specific example. Avoid memorised phrases and examples that do not answer the question. Reserve time to check paragraphing and sentence accuracy.
