At C1, a strong question does more than request information. It controls scope, tests evidence, exposes assumptions and manages interpersonal tone. In this unit, you will practise questioning that is precise, analytical and appropriately diplomatic.

You'll practice:

Turn direct questions into accurate embedded and strategically softened questions.
Probe vague or overconfident claims by asking for definitions, measures and evidence.
Challenge assumptions without sounding hostile or dismissive.
Use intonation to distinguish genuine checking from expected agreement or cautious challenge.
Summarize another speaker’s position cautiously and invite confirmation.
