Explaining Cultural Differences

I can explain customs from my country and react politely to differences.

A curious local asks you about life in Armenia: meals, guests and greetings. Some customs are different from theirs.

Your mission: explain your customs clearly, compare them and stay polite.

Key phrases

In Armenia, we usually share food with guests.

Հայաստանում սովորաբար հյուրերի հետ կիսվում ենք ուտելիքով։

Guests always get food in my country.

It's considered polite to bring a small gift.

Քաղաքավարի է համարվում փոքր նվեր բերելը։

People like to receive a small present.

It's quite different from here.

Դա բավականին տարբերվում է այստեղինից։

It is not the same as here.

People tend to eat dinner later.

Մարդիկ սովորաբար ավելի ուշ են ընթրում։

Dinner is later in the evening.

It might seem strange, but it's perfectly normal.

Կարող է տարօրինակ թվալ, բայց լրիվ նորմալ է։

It is common where I live.

Where I come from, it's the opposite.

Իմ կողմերում ամեն ինչ հակառակն է։

In my country it is the other way round.
