Listening: Announcements and academic talks

Practise listening skills using current TOEFL iBT task types.

For announcements, listen for the change, who it affects and what action to take. In academic talks, organise notes by topic, example and conclusion instead of writing every sentence. Pay attention to signposts such as “the key point”, “for instance” and “in contrast”. They show how details support the speaker’s main idea.
