Listening: Choose a response and follow campus conversations
Practise listening skills using current TOEFL iBT task types.
In short-response items, listen for the speaker’s intention: a request, offer, suggestion or clarification. In conversations, note the problem, the options and the decision. Listen for paraphrase rather than expecting the same words to appear in a question. A brief pause or change of tone can signal a correction or new plan.
