am / is / are + verb-ing

The Present Continuous tells us what is happening now. Make it with am, is or are and the verb + -ing.

• I → am wearing (I'm wearing)
• he / she / it → is wearing (she's wearing)
• we / you / they → are wearing (we're wearing)

• I'm wearing a warm sweater.
• She is walking to the shop.
• They are talking on the phone.

An action happening now

Use it for an action at this moment. The words now, right now, today and Look! often go with it.

• Look! It is snowing.
• It is cold today, so Anna is wearing a hat.
• The wind is blowing right now.
