Imperatives are used to give orders, instructions, advice, or warnings. Imperatives are used to give instructions, commands, warnings, and advice. They use the base form of the verb and often appear in classrooms, recipes, signs, and everyday speech. ### Forms you will practice - Positive: “Open the door.” - Negative: “Don’t open the door.” - Polite imperatives with “please” - Suggestions with “Let’s …” ### Goal You’ll learn how to sound clear and polite (not too strong) when you give instructions.
