Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Sunny Academy collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website, applications, and services (the "Service"), including AI Speaking Practice ("Speak with Sunny") and other learning tools. The Service is operated by SignedByGevorg ("we", "us", or "our").
Information We Collect
Account data: your name (if provided), email address, sign-in method (email or Google), language, and profile photo if you upload one. Learning data: your answers, test results, practice history, settings, and credit balance. Guest data: if you practice without an account, we use a random identifier stored in your browser to count your free credits and keep your session; if you then sign in, that session is added to your account history. Technical data: device and browser type, IP address, approximate location (country/city), and usage logs, used to run and protect the Service.
Voice recordings and AI processing
When you use AI Speaking, your microphone is used only while you are recording an answer. The recording is sent to our servers to transcribe your speech, score pronunciation, and generate feedback and spoken replies. To do this, your audio and text are processed on our behalf by AI service providers: OpenAI (transcription and feedback), Microsoft Azure Speech (pronunciation assessment), and ElevenLabs (voice replies). We do not sell your recordings or use them for advertising. Stored audio recordings are deleted automatically after about 14 days; the text of your answers and feedback stays in your practice history while your account exists.
Payments (Lemon Squeezy and NOWPayments)
When you buy Sunny Plus or a credit pack by card, checkout and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy receives your payment details directly; we never see or store full card numbers. Lemon Squeezy shares limited transaction data with us (for example your email, the product bought, subscription status, and payment and refund events) so we can add credits, activate your plan, and handle refunds. Where cryptocurrency checkout is offered for credit packs, the payment is processed by NOWPayments. We send NOWPayments only an order number, a short order description and the USD price; we do not send your email. NOWPayments returns the payment status, the coin and network used, the amount paid and the transaction details, which we store to add credits, investigate under- or over-payments and handle refunds. Blockchain transactions are public by design and cannot be deleted.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (1) provide the Service, including AI feedback, practice history, and credits; (2) personalize learning, such as recommended topics and progress tracking; (3) send service emails, such as verification codes, payment notices, and practice summaries (you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails); (4) prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and (5) meet legal and accounting obligations.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, and only what they need: hosting and file storage, email delivery, Google (if you sign in with Google), Lemon Squeezy (card payments), NOWPayments (cryptocurrency payments), the AI providers listed above, and analytics (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which can record how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling). These providers may process data in other countries under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep data
Account and learning data: while your account is open. AI Speaking audio recordings: about 14 days. Payment and refund records: as long as tax and accounting law requires. When you delete your account, you can no longer sign in and your account is closed straight away. To have your remaining personal data permanently erased, email [email protected] and we will complete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, download, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. You can edit your profile and delete your account in your profile settings, or email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
Children
Learners of any age can use Sunny Academy, but children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country) should use it only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data without that consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or on the site.
