Avaliação Completa do Nível CEFR Sunny Academy

Choose from five sections: language use (grammar and vocabulary), reading, listening, writing and spoken responses. Completed sections give indicative CEFR estimates; an overall estimate requires all five sections. Allow about 45–55 minutes for the full check.

  • ·Speaking feedback uses your transcript. Pronunciation and spoken fluency are not assessed. AI estimates and feedback can contain errors.
  • ·Sound is needed for Listening and a microphone for Speaking, only if you select them. Microphone access is requested when you reach the speaking section.
  • ·You can skip a section during the test. A skipped section is shown as “Not assessed”, never as a low score.

About this English level check

Complete up to 5 sections: language use, reading, listening, writing and spoken responses. Grammar and vocabulary share the language-use section, so the full report has six separate areas.

Allow about 45–55 minutes for all sections. Skipped sections are marked “Not assessed”; an overall estimate requires all five sections.

This is an indicative self-study assessment. Speaking feedback uses your transcript; pronunciation and spoken fluency are not assessed. AI feedback can miss errors.

How the assessment works

What the test measures

The Sunny Academy Full CEFR Level Check estimates performance on the tasks you complete, using CEFR descriptors as a guide. CEFR — the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages — describes language ability on six levels, A1 to C2. This check is not an independently validated placement examination.

The check has 5 sections and six reported areas. Language use tests grammar and vocabulary in context. Reading and listening assess understanding of texts and recordings. Writing asks for a short text based on a prompt. Speaking records a short response through your microphone and assesses vocabulary, grammar and task completion from the transcript. Pronunciation and spoken fluency are not assessed.

Skill estimates may differ. For example, a learner may find reading easier than writing. Differences can reflect practice, task difficulty and scoring uncertainty; use them as a starting point for study.

How the assessment is structured

The check opens with 24 language use questions: four for each CEFR level from A1 to C2, half grammar and half vocabulary. Together they give a first estimate of your level, which the rest of the assessment builds on. After that come three reading texts, three listening recordings, a writing task and a speaking task.

Plan for roughly 45–55 minutes for the full assessment — less if you choose fewer sections. You can skip any section during the test; skipped and unselected sections are shown as “Not assessed”, and one overall level is given only when all five sections are completed. Keep this page open while you take the test.

A working microphone is required for the speaking section. If microphone access is unavailable or denied, check your permissions and try again, or skip speaking. A skipped section is marked “Not assessed”, and the report will not include an overall English level.

How your answers are graded

Language use, reading and listening are marked against fixed answer keys. Writing and speaking are graded by an AI model against CEFR descriptors, looking at task achievement, coherence, grammatical range and accuracy, lexical range, and transcript-supported language use for speaking. Pronunciation and spoken fluency are not assessed.

Writing and speaking are graded by AI. AI grading of productive skills is useful for orientation and for tracking your own progress over time, but it is not equivalent to a trained human examiner. Treat the result as indicative guidance on where to focus, not as a certified measurement.

The complete report shows six areas, with grammar and vocabulary reported separately. Compare the estimates to choose skills to practice next.

What to do with your result

If writing or speaking is weaker, try focused output practice and feedback while continuing to read and listen. If reading or listening is weaker, choose material you can mostly understand and gradually increase the challenge.

Use the report’s course suggestions as a starting point. After a period of regular practice, you can compare a new result with your earlier work. Task differences and AI scoring variation can affect the comparison.

The six CEFR levels

Your result estimates performance on this check using the six CEFR levels. The descriptions below summarize broader language abilities; this check samples only some of them.

A1Beginner
Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. Introduce yourself, ask and answer questions about personal details, and interact simply if the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
A2Elementary
Understand sentences and frequently used expressions about immediate needs — shopping, local geography, employment. Communicate in simple routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information.
B1Intermediate
Deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling. Produce connected text on familiar topics, describe experiences and events, and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2Upper-intermediate
Understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussion in your own field. Interact with fluency and spontaneity that makes conversation with native speakers comfortable for both sides.
C1Advanced
Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognize implicit meaning. Express yourself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions, and use language flexibly for social, academic and professional purposes.

This is an educational self-assessment tool. It is not an accredited examination, not a certification, and not a substitute for a formal language qualification. Writing and speaking scores are produced by an AI model and should be treated as indicative.

Common questions

Is the level check paid?
See the Pricing page for current plans and prices.
Do I need to create an account?
The line next to the Start button shows whether this check currently needs an account.
How long does it take?
The full assessment takes approximately 45–55 minutes, depending on how quickly you work through the speaking and writing sections. If you choose fewer sections, the estimate shown before you start is shorter.
What happens if I close the page halfway through?
Keep the page open while you take the test.
Is my voice recording stored?
Your spoken answer is recorded during the speaking task, transcribed, and used for grading. The recording is stored privately with your attempt and is not shown to other users. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
Is this an official certificate?
No. This is an indicative self-assessment, not an accredited examination such as IELTS, TOEFL or a Cambridge English exam. Universities and employers set their own evidence requirements; check those requirements before using this report.
Can I retake it?
Return to this page to check access for another attempt. See the Pricing page for current plans and prices. For a meaningful comparison, leave a reasonable gap — a few months of study — between attempts.
C2Proficiency
Understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments coherently, and express yourself precisely while differentiating finer shades of meaning.
